When Wale Talk's Sneakers You Listen [Video]

With Reebok gaining much momentum in the past few seasons with the help of their classic design, the Omni Lite Pump, here’s another installment to add to the style’s repertoire. With a nice combination of leather and mesh, this pair sports a colorway similar to that of one of the NBA’s most successful franchises, the New York Knicks. With so much spotlight on new Slam Dunk Champ, Nate Robinson, it’s only fitting to see a sneaker don colors more appropriate to the star athlete. Stay tuned for further info on this release.

A lumbering beast which breath radioactive flames, Godzilla (ゴジラ) not only dominated Japanese cinema since its introduction in 1954, it also captures every kaiju fans’ imaginations. Commemorating its 55th this year, Toho Studio, the entity which created Godzilla and subsequent monsters, in conjunction with Casio, will release a limited edition Godzilla G-Shock. Based on the DW-6900 model, the back plate included engraving of the name “Godzilla” in Japanese katakana characters. Imprinted on the wrist band are markings simulating Godzilla’s jagged spine. The pattern also covered much of the packaging. Activate the EL backlight reveals a holographic image of Godzilla. Numbered at 1000 units worldwide, the watch is only available at selected G-Shock retailers, including Fieil at ZOZOTOWN.

German minimalist designer, Jil Sander, has recently collaborated and launched a line of limited edition sneakers with Hawaiian retailer Aloha Rag to celebrate its induction into the store. These white on white sneakers create a tonal contrast with suede and smooth leather. They come in two models, the high-top and low-top. The classic design is sleek with a slim silhouette and are versatile with any style. Both sneakers come in a very limited 55 pairs each and are now available in online and in Aloha Rag stores.

We first featured this pair of Roc Star x Ato Matsumoto Hi-Straps back in January, and now have more information on them. They are actually a collaboration between DJ Daruma, designer of Japanese label Roc Star, and Ato Matsumoto. These boots were actually made famous by none other than Kanye West. The designs are shown here in a black and pink color palette along with oversized straps and tongue while the other sports neon blue accents. They are now at Phenomenon Harajuku and other select accounts, retailing for $337.
